Saint Michael's Skete Chapel
Located on remote Spruce Island, Saint Michael Skete occupies a wilderness site high on a mountain ridge. This chapel, serving the daily needs of the small monastic community, is designed in the tradition of the historic Russian-Alaskan churches, with their elegant Neoclassical detailing. Nevertheless, this chapel is a highly original design, not imitating any specific Alaskan church.
In addition to the church structure, Andrew designed the iconostasis and furnishings, and worked closely with furniture makers to facilitate their construction. Consecrated in 2024.
