Saint Gregory Palamas Monastery Church
Saint Gregory Palamas is an English-speaking Greek Orthodox Monastery located in the heart of Amish country. Andrew designed the church and bell tower in the vernacular American language seen in the local farm buildings - lap siding, exposed rafter tails, and structural timber-frame. The interior is more purely Byzantine in style, fully plastered to support iconographic murals. Wooden columns and other details express the wood structure behind the plaster, allowing the building to be an honest expression of Byzantine forms in wood. Designed in association with a local architect of record, and built in 2018. It is currently being frescoed by iconographer Vladimir Grygorenko.
