Saint Petka Orthodox Church
This Serbian Orthodox parish in Nashville, TN purchased a former Baptist church dating from the 1950s. The structure was in poor condition, with the roof trusses and brick veneer structurally failing. Andrew designed a comprehensive renovation of the structure, reframing the roof open to the peak, with a new cupola to let light in from above. Wood paneling, arched windows, and a vaulted altar space give an Orthodox feel to the interior. The new brick veneer exterior is detailed to reflect the distinctive Victorian-Industrial architecture of Nashville. Designed in association with a local architect of record, construction completed in 2018.
