Holy Cross Hermitage
The Monastery of the Holy Cross is the largest Russian Orthodox monastery in North America. This church serves as their primary place of worship, designed to accommodate 50 monks and hundreds of visitors. A traditional, yet highly innovative design, the architecture draws from a mixture of Slavic, Romanesque, and vernacular American influences. Built from solid masonry and timber frame, it can be counted among the finest new churches of our time. Construction is ongoing, but substantially complete as of 2025.
