Saint Michael's Skete Chapel
Located on remote Spruce Island, Saint Michael Skete occupies a wilderness site high on a mountain ridge. This chapel, serving the daily needs of the small monastic community, is designed in the tradition of the historic Russian-Alaskan churches, with their elegant NeoClassical detailing. Nevertheless, this chapel is a highly original design, not imitating any specific Alaskan church. Currently under construction.
