Proposed Temple - South Elevation

Saint John the Baptist, Beaverton, OR

Saint John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church is a growing congregation in the Portland area. This design provides room for 400 worshippers, some seated, some standing. The generous nave and transepts accommodate as many as 400 chairs with unobstructed views, while the side aisles offer space for those who prefer to stand or sit in a more sheltered area.

It was important to the parish that the design would look recognizably Greek Orthodox, while also expressing the prevalence of timber construction in the Pacific Northwest. This unusual design combines a timber-roofed basilica with a great Byzantine dome.

Currently undergoing planning and permitting review in collaboration with a team of local consultants.
