Saint James Orthodox Church (OCA) owns a beautiful property on Lady's Island, just outside Beaufort's historic downtown. The South Carolina Lowcountry region has centuries of historic church architecture, and this design conforms to a long tradition of local country chapels. At the same time, the tower with dome, walls prepared for murals, and broad iconostasis, give a uniquely Orthodox liturgical aesthetic.
