Saint Alexis Orthodox Church
This proposed church design would be capable of holding 250 regular worshippers. The interior is structured with an oak timber frame loosely inspired by Norwegian stave churches. The wall panels are plastered in preparation for fresco. The exterior is trimmed with clapboards in nineteenth-century American style. It is a unique fusion of traditional Midwestern building techniques with the form and decorative details of a Medieval church -- the way an Orthodox church might have looked had one been built in nineteenth-century Indiana.
