This small chapel was proposed as an addition to one of the historic plantation cemeteries in the South Carolina Lowcountry. Andrew styled the design after the several chapels-of-ease that survive in the region, dating from the early eighteenth century. Those historic structures are substantially larger, however, so this cemetery chapel is a conjectural design for what a 'miniature' chapel of the period might have looked like.
